SPIDR User Data Basket

This page is used for review and editing of the User Data Basket contents. The page is personalized for each SPIDR user depending on contents of his/her data basket.

    Usage basics

Every SPIDR user can save parameters of his SPIDR to his/her personal data basket. The session parameters include selected date interval and time step, parameters and satellites or stations for several data sets, and preferred format for data export. The data basket contents can be viewed and edited only by its owner. For registered SPIDR user contents of the data basket are persistent between sessions, so the user can login and use the selected time interval, data sets, parameters and stations at any time in the future provided he/she is still registered in the system.

Selected date interval and time step are saved to data basket each time they are changed by user at the SPIDR "Time Interval and Sampling" page. To add parameters and stations to the data basket, the user has to select the action "Add selected data to basket" from the "Next action" lists on the dataset-specific query, print/plot or inventory pages:

From the SPIDR "User Data Basket" page, provided the data basket is not empty, the user can plot the all the available data from all the data sets on the same page, download all the data to his/her workstation, revise the SPIDR metadata inventory for the selected data, and edit the data basket contents (remove selected stations or parameters).

Download data basket to local workstation

To download data for selected date interval, parameters and stations from the data basket to the local workstation, the user has to select the action "Download data in basket" from the "Next action" list on the SPIDR "User Data Basket" page. When the "Download data in basket" action is selected, the user can choose from several data export formats, including ASCII tables, XML and Matlab-friendly. XML format for data export may be used by SPIDR "Wolf" data viewer. The data exported in the Matlab-friendly format can be read by the SPIDR "Matlab plotting tool".

Pressing the button "Go" will initiate data export from SPIDR data bases, optional data re-formatting and packaging, and user redirect to the SPIDR "Data Export and Download" page..

    Notice:
Only registered users can download data from SPIDR. For each user the data download requests are tracked by SPIDR for usage statistics purposes.

    Notice:
Only data available for the selected date interval and time step will be exported for download. The reasons why some data is not available will be listed on the SPIDR "User Data Basket" page.

    Edit data basket contents

The SPIDR user can selectively or completely clear contents of his/her data basket in case he does not need them.

To clear data basket contents marked by check boxes, the user has to choose the action "Clear selected" from the "Next action" list on the SPIDR "User Data Basket" page and to confirm his/her choice by pressing the button "Go".

To completely clear the data basket contents, the user has to choose the action "Empty user basket" from the "Next action" list on the SPIDR "User Data Basket" page and to confirm his/her choice by pressing the button "Go".

    Notice:
The selected date interval and time step are invalidated when user completely clears data basket.
